BE EVER FILLED AND STIMULATED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT / Morning Prayer by Dietrich Bonhoeffer
BE EVER FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT!
Ephesians 5:18 AMP
Do not get drunk with wine, for that is wickedness (corruption, stupidity), but be filled with the [Holy] Spirit and constantly guided by Him.
AMPC And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery; but ever be filled and stimulated with the [Holy] Spirit.
No matter what we may face, those who follow Jesus Christ have a faith that protect. Lately, I keep remembering the encouragement according to above scripture to: BE EVER FILLED AND STIMULTED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT.
This mean we will have the lightness of the Holy Spirit every moment and to be the light of the world and the salt of the earth.
A Morning Prayer by
Pastor Dietrich Bonhoeffer
O God, early in the morning I cry to you.
Help me to pray and to concentrate my thoughts on you;
I can't do this alone.
In me there is darkness, in you there is light;
I am lonely, but you don't leave me;
I am feeble in heart, but with you there is help;
I am restless, but with you there is peace.
In me there is bitterness, but with you there is patience;
I don't understand your ways,
But you know the way for me.
O Heavenly Father, I praise and thank you;
For rest in the night;
I praise and thank you for this new day;
I praise and thank you for all your goodness
and faithfulness throughout my life.
You have granted me many blessings;
Now let me also accept what is hard from your hand.
You will not lay on me more than I can bear.
You make all things work together for good for your children.
Lord Jesus Christ,
You were in distress, a captive and forsaken.
You know all man's troubles,
You abide with me when all men fail me;
You remember and seek me;
It's your will that I should know you and turn to you;
Lord, I hear your call and follow;
Help me.
O Holy Spirit,
Give me faith that will protect me
from despair, from passions, and from vice;
Give me such love for God and men
as will blot out all hatred and bitterness;
Give me the hope that will deliver me
from fear and faint-heartedness.
Amen.
This prayer written by Dietrich Bonhoeffer, the famous German theologian and Pastor, was inspired by the Holy Spirit, which is not surprising knowing how deep his faith was. Especially, because of the courage he had to have to endure the time in which he lived.
Abiding in Christ,
Gabriele Gilpin
