Arise - Shine

1 ARISE [from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you--rise to a new life]!

Shine (be radiant with the glory of the Lord), for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen

upon you!

2 For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and dense darkness [all] peoples, but the Lord shall arise

upon you [O Jerusalem], and His glory shall be seen on you.

3 And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising

Isaiah 60:1-3 Amplified Bible

Have you noticed, when you are out and about, that some people stare at you? Sometimes, I notice someone looking at me intensely while sitting in a bus, train, street car or walking through a shopping mall, and I look at them. They either look away quickly or very often our eyes lock and I may smile at them, but am aware that the glory of God, the manifested presence of Jesus Christ, is upon me and Jesus is shining out of my eyeballs.

These are the moments when life seems to come to a complete halt and in this Kairos (opportune) moment a person is impacted by the Lord's presence, His love and compassion. Many are looking for more and are drawn to the glory, the manifest presence upon us.

"And nations shall come to your light..."

You and me, as the son's and daughter's of our heavenly Father, are dripping with the oil of His presence and draw others to Him. Therefore, arise from things that has kept you under and shine forth the Lord's glory instead. Allow God's glory to be made known in the world around you. How? Just shine, be the light and salt, and do not hide your light under a bushel.

Many times someone comes to me in the grocery store striking up a conversation, which goes something like this: "I know you from somewhere..." Oh, yes, when I hear that, especially when I am in a place I have never been before, I know this person is being drawn by the presence of the Lord and His glory upon me. I always take time out and allow the Holy Spirit to move into this situation and release heaven's will and purposes.

Here is another example, years ago, when I preached at a store-front church in a town in New Jersey, two drunk men entered the church and came forward when the altar call was given. They both sobered up quickly and received Jesus as Lord and Savior. As I spoke and prayed with them, they told me: "When we passed by the church and saw you preaching on the platform, we thought it was an angel because of the light around you and we had to come in." The Lord's glory was upon me and drew drunken sinners to Him. This is so much fun!

2 Cor 3:18)

18 And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is]the Spirit

2 Cor 4:6-7

6 For God Who said, Let light shine out of darkness, has shone in our hearts so as [to beam forth] the Light for the illumination of the knowledge of the majesty and glory of God [as it is manifest in the Person and is revealed] in the face of Jesus Christ (the Messiah).

7However, we possess this precious treasure [the divine Light of the Gospel] in [frail, human] vessels of earth, that the grandeur and exceeding greatness of the power may be shown to be from God and not from ourselves.

This is the Lord's doing and it is very good!

There you have it....be blessed and have fun shining!
